The process of creating fine stone-work has been handed down over countless generations. Nowhere can the quality of this craft be seen more clearly than in the English Cotswolds.
The Cotswold Hills boast some of the prettiest countryside you will ever see and its villages and towns display the magnificent and, sometimes, simple results of the use of the local oolitic limestone, carved by the finest banker masons in the world. From castles and cathedrals to manor houses and cottages, many have been crafted and decorated with the banker mason’s art.
And so it is today. M. J. Wright & Sons carry on this wonderful tradition, creating and supplying window and door frames, porticos, reliefs, cappings, columns, chimneys, finials, entrances, openings, fireplaces, stone flooring and so much more, for restoration projects and new-build alike, along with a wide range of creative garden architecture including sculptures and ornaments, balustrading, bas-relief, benches, bowls, bases, birdbaths and sundials.
All hand-carved from many fine types of stone including Guiting, Bath and Portland limestone.
Produced for any location in the world.
We can work to your own requirements, architect’s drawings or create new, individual designs, as well as provide items from our range of stock.
The utmost care is taken at all stages of production to ensure the finest quality finished product.
Stone for each project is individually sourced and chosen, then dressed and sized with fine precision. Full-size zinc templates are produced from which the masons carve each component. And, finally, everything is assembled to ensure a perfect fit prior to despatch.
Creating something to be cherished and admired by future generations.
